Believing that tourism can play its part to build a regenerative world, Mana Earthly Paradise was established to become part of the solution, not the problem. By implementing circular and regenerative practices, we hope to demonstrate how hospitality businesses in the future ought to be while being mindful of the communities they are nestled in.

We are thrilled to announce that, as of October 2022, Mana Earthly Paradise is now a Certified B Corporation™.

As a fellow B Corporation™, we are joining a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. We are proud, humbled and grateful for our certification, thus we will continue to strive in being ecologically- and socially-minded in every way possible – for people and planet 💚

What is B Corp?

The world is in a “degenerative” state. Meaning, the current world is incapable of growing without sacrificing more natural resources and marginalizing already vulnerable communities. The prevalent economic system prioritizes profit, and won’t bat an eye for people or the planet.

Like B Lab™, we believe that a different kind of economy is not only possible, but necessary — and that business can lead this transition to see an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative world.

To change the global economic landscape, the B Corp movement was created to mobilize businesses in becoming a force for good, driving collective action that address the world’s most critical issues.

To be ecologically- and socially-minded in every step of our journey sits at the heart of Mana Earthly Paradise’s mission. Sadly we are living in a time where businesses are incentivized to make claims of positive impact instead of actual delivery of it. Which is why it is more important than ever that, as a business, we stay true to our mission and values.

For us, to be a certified B Corp sends a message that we are awfully serious in what we are doing: to realize a regenerative future by demonstrating an eco-conscious lifestyle that is neither luxury nor inconvenient, but rather inclusive, exciting, and value-aligned.

Where do we go from here?

Becoming a B Corp™ is an incredible milestone for our 3-year old next-generation hotel and is a great encouragement for our team. However, we also recognize that there’s still work to be done. This certification is no end-goal by all means, rather it is a call for us to ensure we maintain the highest standards and continue to improve upon what we have achieved thus far.

It is an honor and a privilege to join a select collective of companies in Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region that are leading a movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. Mana Earthly Paradise is the first B Corp™ hotel in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, and only the second in Asia. It's also noteworthy that Mana is the third B Corp™ company to be based in Bali.

As much as it is an encouragement for our team, we hope this will also encourage more businesses, especially hotels and hospitality businesses in Bali, to also become the change they want to see in the world. Because that is what Bali, Indonesia, and the world need.
